Continuing the Momentum For #BlackLivesMatter
Persistence is key to unlocking doors closed by resistance.
It has been an eye-opening, heavy past few weeks—there have been victories and there have been losses. Many strides have been made and we’ve come a long way but the fight doesn’t end here. It can’t.
Keep listening, learning, donating, and standing up for what is right.
Persistence is key.
To continue the momentum in ending systemic racism:
We have set up recurring donations to the Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc. and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). While one-time donations are helpful, I encourage you to set up recurring donations, if you are in a situation to be able to.
Recurring donations provide reliable income for nonprofit organizations and allow them to better forecast and plan how they will pay for staffing and how they will achieve the important work that they do.
We are committed to showcasing more beautiful BIPOC brides and vendors within the Fine Art Wedding world and will approach content curation with a refined lens.
Brides recently put together this fantastic list of 100 black-owned wedding businesses. It covers everything from magically talented floral designers to photographers. Thank you, Brides!
As we begin to share our own content again, please don’t let the hard work and achievements of the past weeks be overwritten.
Instead, I hope each of our learnings are woven into the fibers of all the futures of our work.
Keep listening, learning, donating, and standing up for what is right.
xx,
Sophie
